Medical Doctor Arrested For Carrying Out Abortion In Edo.

Edo State Police Command have arrested the Managing Director of the Ofure Royal Medical Centre located at Upper Uwa Street, Benin City, Dr. Omokhomion Kingsley, for allegedly conducting abortion at his clinic. Dr. Omokhomion was apprehended by police officers from the Zonal Criminal Investigation Bureau, Zone 5’ police headquarters, Benin City, following complaint that a woman’s pregnancy was terminated.

Police officer promoted for producing locally made buller proof.

A serving Sergeant with the Bauchi State Police Command, Godwin Hosea, has been promoted by the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, to the rank of an Inspector for locally producing a bulletproof jacket.
Decorating the newly promoted Inspector at the Police Headquarters in Bauchi on Monday, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Mohammed, commended him for displaying exceptional talent.

Nigerian Journalist Gagged In Cameroon, Sign a petition To Set Him Free Now

Our dear friend, Simon Ateba, who is a journalist of high repute, visited Cameroon to cover the situation of more than 50,000 Nigerians currently being camped as refugees due to the raving insurgency of the Boko Haram terrorist groups; but unfortunately was arrested by the Cameroonian authority who accused him of spying for boko haram.  

Simon is a friend i have kept contact with over the years, following each other's activity. Apparently, he had tagged me in some messages that he was heading down Cameroon to investigate the boko haram refugee situation involving over 50,000 Nigerians. He before then received a grant from the International Centre for Investigative Reporting, Abuja, to investigate the ordeals and sufferings of these Nigerians who fled into Cameroon as their communities were taking over by an extremist Boko Haram sect.

Man Gets 5 Years Jail Term For Setting Pregnant Woman Ablaze in Benin (Photo)

 

A Magistrates, Court sitting in Benin, Edo State, on Monday sentenced one Lucky Esonahae to five years imprisonment for setting his pregnant lover ablaze.  The 37-year-old bar operator was arraigned on a count of causing bodily harm.

The charge read, “That you, Lucky Esonahae, on July 6, 2015, at Uwelu Quartres, Benin, in Egor Magisterial District, did unlawfully cause grievous harm to one Stella Isaac, by setting her on fire with kerosene, which cause her bodily harm and, thereby, committed an offence punishable under Section 355(B) of the Criminal Code Cap 48, Vol. II, Laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976, as applicable to Edo State.”

Ex-Gov Akpabio escapes an accident in Abuja.

The Immediate Past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio was reportedly involved in a car accident this morning along the Airport Road in Abuja. However on close examination, The Governor was declared a survivor and was immediately rushed to the  Trauma ward in the National Hospital Abuja where he is receiving treatment.

His car had reportedly crashed into other vehicles along Bolingo Junction when one of the cars in the ex-governor’s convoy tried to beat the traffic light resulting in a collision with another car.

Two young women aged 20 and 25 years respectively – one in a mini-skirt and one in a top that left her entire br3ast almost exposed, were molested by a large group of men in Cameroon.

Eyewitness say a group of men gathered in front of the shop the girls had entered. As soon as the girls came out, the men followed them, s**ually molested and str!pped one of the girls naked and started taking photos with their cellphones.

Her friend who tried to assist her was also abused. The girl who wore the mini-skirt was eventually rescued by police, who escorted her home, whilst the other was saved by a businessman, and was also later escorted home. too bad

"Boko Haram is planning to attack Lagos"- SSS

 

The State Security Service, SSS, on Sunday disclosed that the boko haram terrorist group is trying to attack Lagos state.  The SSS made the disclosure via a statement issued by its spokesperson, Tony Opuiyo, on Sunday. The statement also listed boko haram terrorists arrested in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria.

Opuiyo said, ''the sudden influx of Boko Haram members into Lagos State points to the determination of the sect to extend its nefarious terrorist activities to the State and in fact, other parts of the country''.

NNPC shuts Warri refinery over vandalism

Barely a month after it resumed production, the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited has been shut down again, a situation that may constitute a setback to the new administration’s current efforts at shoring up local supply of petroleum products.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation said on Sunday that it took the action because the pipelines supplying crude oil to the Warri refinery had been compromised by vandals.

It, however, said the closure would be temporary as it hoped to reopen the refinery on Tuesday.

Yoruba’ll regret voting Buhari – Senator Femi Okunrounmu

Aleader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Senator Femi Okunrounmu, says the Yoruba will regret voting President Muhammadu Buhari.

Okunrounmu, who was the Chairman of the defunct Presidential Advisory Committee on National Conference, had supported former President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term and asked the Yoruba to vote for him so that he would be able to implement the report of the conference.

However, Buhari received over two million votes from the South-West in the last election, defeating Jonathan in the process.

Nkem Owoh: Nollywood Can Contribute To Nigeria's Economy


Nollywood legend, Nkem Owoh, popularly known as ”Osuofia,” on Friday advised President Muhammadu Buhari to formulate favourable policies for the Nigerian movie industry that would enable the industry contribute to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The veteran actor who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria, said Nollywood is capable of contributing to Nigeria’s economic development effectively if the industry is given all the necessary support it requires by government.

He also charged the government to pay attention to the issue of piracy bedeviling the industry, adding that the activities of pirates has seriously affected the film industry.

Ruling Party Lists More Cases Of Corruption Under GEJ Govt

The All Progressive Congress has provided more cases of alleged public funds looting by some officials of the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

The All Progressives Congress, APC has blamed former President Goodluck Jonathan for the party's inability to fulfill its campaign promises.

In a Sunday statement issued by APC National Publicity secretary, the party said if Jonathan had not looted funds, it would have been able to do more than basically fulfilling its campaign promise.

''They say we are yet to fulfil our campaign promises to Nigeria, but they have forgotten that if only the PDP/Jonathan Administration had not stolen Nigeria blind, there would have been more than enough money to give school children in Nigeria not just one but three meals a day and even pay 5,000 Naira to 50 million most vulnerable Nigerians, not just the 25 million we promised in our manifesto,'' APC said.

38 virgins killed in a bus crash on their way to a ‘topless’ dance festival for the King of Swaziland (Photos)

Dozens of virgin girls and young women were killed as they traveled to the traditional festival where the King of Swaziland is know to pick a new bride from thousands of topless, dancing virgins.
The tragic accident, which happened along the MR3 Highway, Mahhala, involved two trucks, which were ferrying maidens and a sedan.

According to Times of Swaziland, at least 38 of them died when the open-topped truck collided with another vehicle, before being hit by a second truck as it travelled along a motorway between the Swazi cities of Mbabane and Manzini on Friday afternoon. see photos from the scene of the accident below.......
