Sharia: Kano State government supports death sentence for 9 persons accused of blasphemy

sharia-court  The Kano State government yesterday threw its weight behind the judgement of an Upper Sharia Court that sentenced nine persons to death over blasphemous statement against Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

The state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in a statement by his Director General, Media and Communications, Alhaji Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, described the judgement as “triumph of rule of law”. Sheikh Abdul Nyass and eight others were sentenced to death last Thursday, following a blasphemous statement made during a Maulud programme in Kano.

Okonjo-Iweala Reacts To Alleged $2.1 Unauthorized Spending

 

The former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has reacted to claims that she spent $2.1 billion out of the Excess Crude Account without authorization.

According to The Nation, Okonjo-Iweala on Monday denied the allegation and has offered to face any form of inquiry measure.

Reacting to claims by some governors after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, her media adviser, Paul Nwabuikwu, said “the allegation by some governors that former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala spent $2.1 billion out of the Excess Crude Account without authorization is false, malicious and totally without foundation. ”Nwabuikwu in a statement on Tuesday said there was no unauthorized expenditure from the ECA under Okonjo-Iweala’s watch in the Finance Ministry.“

JTF Says About 603 of its Members have been killed by Boko Haram in Borno

About 603 Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have been killed so far in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State, the Legal Adviser to the CJTF Barrister Jibril T. Gunda has said.

Barrister Jibril  said this while speaking Monday in Gombe State at the two-day Summit on Security and Governance in the North-East organised by the CLEEN Foundation, the Nigeria Stabilisation and Reconciliation Program (NSRP) and the Ford Foundation.

The summit attended by over 50 stakeholders within the North East zone, experts and stakeholders from civil society organizations (CSOs), security agencies, traditional institutions among others was aimed at evolving new strategies and agenda for public safety, security and good governance in the North East.

G7 gives Buhari list of corrupt Nigerians, Femi Falana set to go after them

 
This one no be joke oh.... you remember world powers promised to assist president Buhari in attacking and eradicating corruption in Nigeria and indications have now emerged that the group have decided to walk the talk by handing him a list of corrupt Nigerians that have looted large sums of money from the country

President Buhari attended the G7 meeting of world leaders in Germany and presented the leaders with a list of needs in fight against Boko Haram and corruption

And it seems that the leaders have heeded his appeal as close government sources have told  Tribune that a list of alleged corrupt Nigerians, including elected public officials, appointed officials and their collaborators in the private sector, was said to have been made available to Buhari while attending the G7 meeting in Germany.

Gov Aregbesola Finally pays Osun state workers their December salary

 

Na wah for our govt oh. Just imagine, after starving families for months.

Osun state governor Rauf Aregbesola has approved the payment of the December 2014 salary of the state civil servants. At a press conference in Osogbo, the state capital, the chairman of the state's NLC, Mr. Jacob Adekomi, said Governor Aregbesola approved the payment after a meeting between the state NLC leaders and some officials of the state government.

Mr Adekomi also stated that the Governor has approved the payment of 30% balance of November salaries of some workers who were yet to be paid in full. The NLC boss said the strike action by the state workers will still continue despite the payment of the December salary.

Buhari appoints Mrs Zakari as Acting Chairman of INEC

 

President Buhari has appointed Mrs Amina Bala Zakari as the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Mrs Zakari takes over from Professor Jega whose tenure as the Commission's Chairman ended today June 30th. Her appointment was contained in a statement released today from the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi. Her appointment takes effect from today June 30, 2015 until the appointment of a substantive Chairman. 

NDLEA Uncovers Multi Million naira Drug lab in Anambra (See photos )

 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) has arrested an international drug peddler from Ozobulu, Anambra state. 

The agency discovered three clandestine laboratories used for illegal production of methamphetamine built by the dealer Chukwunwendu Sylvester Ikejiakwu , aka Blessed,. 

The illegal drug factories were detected in Anambra State South East Nigeria. A suspected drug kingpin Mr. Chukwunwendu Sylvester Ikejiakwu aka Blessed who was arrested is said to be the owner of the laboratories and leader of an International Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) that recruits and sponsors drug couriers to China, Malaysia, Turkey and Italy.

Court Set to Deliver Judgement on Former Min. Fani-Kayode's Money-laundering, on Wednesday



The court has adjourned judgment to be delivered on Wednesday in the trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.

The former Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign was accused of money laundering.

Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia chose not to deliver the verdict on the earlier date, June 18, because the prosecution counsel, Mr. Festus Keyamo, was absent.

Ritualists Behead Okada Rider In Ekpoma, Edo state { Very Graphic Photo}

 

Suspected ritualists have beheaded a commercial motorcyclist and carted his head away in one of the goriest attacks ever witnessed in a community in Ekpoma,  Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

According to eyewitness, the gruesome incident occurred at 8pm on a lonely street adjacent to the Ambrose Alli University College of Medicine.

After beheading the Okada rider, the ritualists left his body in a pool of blood with splashes all over the scene.

Police Corporal Arrested For Killing Two Women In Edo State (See Photo)

 

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a police corporal for shooting two women to death during a funeral at Ivhiokhile quarters, Fugar, in the Etsako Central Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that one of the women, Sandra Imhaku, was hit by a bullet from the yet-to-be-identified police officer’s gun last Saturday.

The gun went off while the cop was trying usher his principal, said to be a traditional ruler, into a vehicle.

Sad: NYSC Corper Found Dead In His Room Few Days To His Discharge from the Youth Corp Service (See Photos)

    
Sad, Ray Obiora Okonkwo, who turned 25 years old as at the time of his dead, will not be passing out from his youth service corps along side his other colleagues  this Thursday.

“We noticed we haven’t seen him in a while and were asking his sister about his whereabouts,” a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Calabar, Cross Rivers State told CCNA.

“Then she went to his house and found him dead on the floor,” the Corps member told us. Ray’s apartment is located around the popular Pyramid Hotel in Calabar.

Sad: South Sudan Army Rape, Burn Girls Alive - UN

 

UN rights reports have said on Tuesday that South Sudan’s army raped then torched girls alive inside their homes during a recent campaign notable for its “new brutality and intensity”.

A UN mission in South Sudan said some of the most disturbing allegations focused on the abduction and sexual abuse of women and girls, some of whom were reportedly burnt alive in their dwellings.
The UN mission said they have interviewed 115 victims and eyewitnesses in Unity state where South Sudanese forces were involved in fighting against opposition fighters in April. 

They have also promised to bring those involved to book.

Professor Attahiru Bows out as INEC Chairman, hands over to Wali wali

 
Professor Attahiru Jega’s tenure as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has come to an end. The former INEC boss, who took over from Professor Maurice Iwu, assumed office on June 8, 2010 during the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. Professor Jega officially handed over leadership to the commission’s National Commissioner, Ambassador Mohammad Wali, on Tuesday. 

 Ambassador Wali hails from Sanyima town in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, north-west Nigeria. Before his appointment as INEC National Commissioner, Ambassador Wali was an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and Chief Executive Officer, Development Strategies International (DSI). He is a member of various committees of INEC and the Chairman of the Tenders Board. 

However, he would be acting as the INEC Chairman till the end of his tenure in August 11, 2015.

Indonesian Military Plane Crashes Intoa Residential Area, Kills More Than 100 People, Many Injured

  
 No fewer than 100 people were killed after an Indonesian military plane, C-130 Hercules carrying 113 passengers crashed into Medan, the third largest residential area in Indonesia. According to Indonesia’s Air force chief, Air Marshall Agus Supriatna, the pilot told the control tower that the plane needed to turn back because of engine trouble. “The plane crashed while it was turning right to return to the airport,” Supriatna said. 

Also speaking, police chief of Medan city Mardiaz Dwihananto, said several bodies had been recovered from the wreckage. “The bodies were in the debris of the plane and buildings…we are taking the bodies one by one by ambulance to Adam Malik hospital. We haven’t managed to evacuate all of the bodies,” Dwihananto said. The C-130 accident is the second time in 10 years that an airplane has crashed into a Medan neighborhood.

Boko Haram Leader Arrested In Chad

A key Boko Haram leader, Baana Fanay has been arrested on Sunday in N’djamena according to Chadian Public Prosecutor, Alghassim Khamis. He is said to have been arrested after a fierce resistance in company of two other terrorist.

Banna Fanay was in charge of purchase and trafficking of weapons. He also recruited fighters in Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad.

A search in the suspect’s house led to the seizure of different weapons and documents written in Arabic by Boko Haram leader, Aboubakar Shekau. A man said to be a financier of the group was also arrested.

Lai Mohammed, national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), believes that the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari(one month in office) in tackling insecurity outweighs that of former President Goodluck Jonathan throughout his five years in office.

Appealing to Nigerians to exercise patience with the current administration, Mohammed blamed the delay in appointing a cabinet on the lack of cooperation of the past administration. Lai spoke at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

FG orders probe on NNPC over unaccounted N3.8trillion

 

The Federal government yesterday June 29th constituted a four-man committee to probe NNPC over N3.8 trillion unaccounted for by the corporation in the last three years. According to Edo state governor, who is part of the 4-man probe committee, investigations by the federal government show that NNPC made N8.1 trillion from 2012-2015, paid N4.3 trillion to the federal government and withheld N3.8 trillion which the management of the corporation have not accounted for.

Tension in Anambra State, As 47 Boko Haram Prisoners Arrive the state





Tension has erupted in Anambra state, following reports that about 47 Boko Haram suspects have been relocated to Ekwulobia Prisons in Aguata Local Government Area of the state.

Hundreds of youths took to the street over the weekend when the rumour first broke about the alleged relocation, leading to the closure of major markets in the state. It was gathered that prisons officials at the Ekwulobia Prisons did not shown any sign that new inmates were brought it.

Presidency Says Okonjo-Iweala spent $2.1bn without approval

The National Economic Council, chaired by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday accused a former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, of spending $2.1bn from the Excess Crude Account without authorisation.

“We looked at the numbers for the Excess Crude Account. The last time the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, reported to the council, and it is in the minutes, she reported by November 2014 that we had $4.1 bn.

North Korean leader Kim Jong, executes airport architect over poor airport design

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has executed the chief architect of  the  new international Pyongyang airport.

According to reports, the architect was executed because Kim didn’t like the design.

The project is the country’s latest bid to appeal to potential tourists since Kim ascended to power in North Korea three years ago and features a jewellery store, coffee bar, a pharmacy, a chocolate fountain and other luxury amenities.

Until his disappearance last year, Ma Won Chun, was North Korea’s director of the Designing Department of the National Defence Commission. His execution was confirmed when he was noticeably absent from the press photos.

In the course of the action, the fruit broke and stuck inside her private part. She cried out and was rushed to the medical centre as she started bleeding profusely. The doctors demanded that she must contact her parents before a surgery would be done to remove it, but she ran away… She is still at large. I wonder where the boys are.

The girl who wrote her name as Blessing Nwabeeke, was one of four other girls arrested in the home of one Chief Emmanuel Eke from  Isiala Ngwa South in Abia State, said to be the operator of the baby factory where the girls were nabbed.

So so sad.... I got this story yesterday,but was offline as at the time; it breaks my heart that this is happening again.  A Nigerian guy is said to have jumped from a 3-storey building of his house in Malaysia while running from the police who invaded his apartment in Malaysia.

 The diseased who goes by the name chinedu, is an indigene of ‎Delta state. May his soul rest in peace.  

Its so sad our vibrant youths continue to waste their lives in a strange land all in the name of survival, while our politicians spend our money abroad buying luxurious properties. too bad.

Supporters of Saraki Claim Sahara Reporters Story Is Fake, Useless, Unverified, [ see the real passport they have provided]

Supporters of Bukola Saraki, the President of the Nigerian Senate, have posted the picture of what they described as the real international passport of Saraki and described a story by an online newspaper, saharareporters.com, as fake, useless, unverified and a failed attempt to smear the name of Saraki.

Supporters blamed the online medium for not verifying its story and joining some politicians who are against Saraki to smear his name and diminish him in the eyes of Nigerians.

The newspaper, read by many people had claimed that Saraki “is not even a Nigerian citizen”. It published the photograph of a passport showing that he was a British citizen.

Looking at this two photos, tt is not even clear which one is real and which one is fake. Pls who ever knows better, should provide us with the answers.

Borno state is Already Experiencing Change Under Buhari -Shettima

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has revealed that his state is already benefiting from the 'change' promised by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to THIS DAY, Shettima made the claim while breaking Ramadan fast(Iftar) with some internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri at one of the 22 camps established for them in the Borno state capital.

He said, ''We have started feeling the impacts of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration. For instance, from 2013 when we started establishing camps for displaced persons in Biu for the people of Damboa and to the number of camps we have now, the Borno State Government solely bore the biggest burden of funding these IDPs’ camps until a few days ago.

Facebook has threatened to delete Sahara Reporters' page on the site after it published Nigeria's Senate President Bukola Saraki's UK Passport yesterday.

Sahara Reporters had claimed Saraki isn't a Nigerian citizen since he head a UK passport. However Facebook has taken down the photo and have threatened to unpublish Sahara Reporter's fan page if they are not careful. lol... wahala

Sources close to President Muhammadu Buhari are saying, there is growing concern over the apparent determination of the president’s wife, Aisha Buhari, to politically possess the office of the "first lady" as a  spouse of the president,  in defiance of her husband’s wishes.

You recall the president already said during his political campaigns that he was scrapping the office of the first lady.

Ghen, Ghen: Buhari orders the VC and registrar of Fed University of Otuoke to refund overpaid salaries

 

The Presidency, through the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, has instructed the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko, to refund over payment of salaries running into millions of naira.

The Registrar of the university, David Suowari, was also directed to refundthe sum of N130, 692.71 per month in excess of his due salary.

The over payments were said to have been discovered during the commission’s visit to the institution on May 12, 2015 to carry out an inspection of FUO’s remuneration practices vis-a-vis the extant government’s pay policy.

Journalist Beaten to Near Death for reporting smugglers' illicit activities in badagry

 

The Executive publisher of Prime Magazine, a Badagry based publication, Yomi Olomofe was on Thursday June 25th beaten to a pulp by hoodlums suspected to be smugglers for allegedly reporting their illicit activities in Badagry, Lagos state  Narrating his ordeal to Vanguard, Mr Olomofe said

    “I was with another colleague of mine on a visit to the command, when some smugglers, who claimed that journalists have been writing negative stories about them, pounced on me. While beating me, they threatened to kill me so as to serve as deterrent to journalists writing stories about them. I was there with the correspondent of Tide Newspaper, thank God a friend from Rotary Club came to take me away, I would have been dead, because I was left there almost lifeless. These hoodlums are not unknown. They are known to everybody, but they are above the law. They even told me that they have killed many people and nothing happened” he said

President Buhari Orders Arrest Of his Brother-in-law Over Alleged Extortion

 
So According to Sahara Reporters, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the arrest of his brother-in-law for allegedly extorting money from an unnamed businessman.

The suspect, Mr. Musa Yola, who is said to be  the immediate younger brother of Mr. Buhari’s wife reportedly received N300 million from a businessman after promising to provide his dupe with political access to secure an oil block from the Buhari administration.

After telling the businessman that he was stupid to part with such significant cash when he should know that he, Mr. Buhari, would not participate in fraud, the president ordered agents of the State Security Services (SSS) attached to Aso Rock Villa to thoroughly investigate the scam. He also ordered the SSS operatives to ensure that the businessman recovered his money from his brother-in-law.
Meanwhile,  SaharaReporters, claims “Alhaji Yola has refunded the money to the affected businessman, and  has been released on bail.”

The zone is particularly angry with the President, who is the leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for tolerating the outcome of National Assembly leadership election, which did not favour the region. Buhari’s silence according to them is a serious indication that the zone, which queued behind him to ensure victory at the recent polls, may benefit little or nothing from the administration. “For the fact that the South-West played a key role in the emergence of Buhari as the President, it is expected that they would occupy a more strategic position than the post of vice president”, said one of the leaders.

Eiya, Kanye West Says He Sacrificed His Mother For his Success

 
According to  an article  from YAHOO NEWS, super star rapper Kenye West has revealed to the press that he sacrifed his mother for his success.  

When asked by the magazine what in his life he's sacrificed for his massive level of success, the Grammy winner, 38, said simply, "My mom."

    Blaming himself,  Kanye West opened up about the tragic death of his mother Donda West in a new interview with Q magazine, and revealed that he holds himself accountable for her loss.
   
    "If I had never moved to L.A. she'd be alive," West continued of his beloved mother, who inspired his creative business DONDA. "I don't want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears."

Sad: ‘Kidnapped’ Victims Of Boko Haram Now Being Used As Suicide Bombers

 

A teenage girl strapped with explosives ran away from a crowded mosque this week, killing only herself and cementing suspicions that Boko Haram is using unwilling captives in its terror campaign in northeast Nigeria.

The girl took off after her companion blew up in an explosion that killed 30 people on Monday in Maiduguri. In the confusion of the blast, the other girl just ran away and only exploded when she was far from the crowd.
